Separating ur harddisk into partition

Most of us,basically will only partition our hd maybe to 2 or 3 partiotions.Well, here is tips on how suppose we do it.Suppose we just installed the OS on basic requirement as it needed, means if for Xp, their minimum requirement is only 2GB, so just spend around 5 GB on for the installer.Separating the program files folder on other partition is a big help on optimizing ur pc performance.

For example, u installed ur softwares,other programs,editor on D drive or E drives separate from the Windows files.Generally, it helps as on backup purposes and also security terms,quota and etc.This tips is also applied for other application ex; music folder will be put on other partition, office files, video, applications and etc.
If u dont believe it, u can try and c da difference..

Defrag ur harddisk once per month

Actually it's a good practical knowledge if u defrag ur hd once a month as it
can improve performance of ur pc.Just using the admin tools and run the diagnose and start defragmenting.

After that,restart ur pc.but if there is no 'active' activity on ur drives maybe D,E,F u can skip this on running once a month..maybe u can change it to twice per year or etc.

There is also another tips on performance..just disable certain services that are 'automatically' loaded when u installed the Os..most of network serveices is unneeded if u are running on standalone pc..so, get reviews on it and manage as it quite a good way on optimizing ur performance.

Security Embed in Windows XP

As u know,most Xp machines is installed on NTFS partition..so..the buildin security features is automatically installed..but answer me..how much users knew about this features?...quite small..but dont worry, i'm here and would like to share it with u..open ur folder options,under tools;go for view tab,go to the last radio button..(recommended-Micosoft hides it!),untick it.Then on ur folder/files prop, u will see security options there and from this step u knew what to do..restriction..U can restrict,assign users on what files they can read,write and so on..take ur time and explore it..it quite fun..

Speedup ur boot and shut time

Have u ever counter a long and cuzzy stratup win where u have to wait for a MIN, to start ur work?Hmm..i got a tips here...first,whether u turn on the hibernate function or u do these tips..Open ur system props,go to advence,clik on user profiles..how much MB/GB that it shows??big huh??..ok, dont worry..as u have partition on ur disk, just move maybe around 75% of ur data to other places,means from ur document(my document) to other partition..then check again..is the figure going down..ok, now u get the idea..clearing those on ur personal places might help ur pc boot and become faster than before..why?..u have to ask Microsoft on this..hehehe..ok..

Brontok Virus Prevention

Basically, when ur system hang,slow maybe there were 'something'resides in ur pc..guess what?..virus!But don't panic as u will be able to 'servis' them in the next few second.. ;)For ex; brontok virus..indon made..U have to go to run command;type in 'taskmgr',then u will find certain unknown programs that take over the control of ur system..ex;services.exe,winlogon.exe..etc

First step. Launch maybe other 3rd party software to view those progs, then terminated it..but dont restart yet..after that, run regedit, find in run process(hkCU/LM/) and delete thoseillegal progs that will start up when windows boot up.Also open ur internal scheduler,del all schedule process..moreover,if u knew where the source come from, track the program name, and delete it..find all ur directory for duplicate file name;apllication type; and size +-45KB..just delete it, but DONOT ever open it!Once finished,u can restart ur win..Further info; u can mailed me or go to symantec security sites on update..

Useful Command on XP

Have u heard about Shutdown Command on XP?
Bet u dont know bout it..ok..
let me brief u a little bit..there is a command in XP (powerful-cause it can terminated our session on a single command) and it's a shutdown command
for example, just type shutdown on ur DOS prompt, and
there u will see the alternative and function.

When u xpert about it, u can create a shortcut, using the shutdown cmd and ur
filters, then put it on ur desktop; for example a shutdown command.
From now on, u just need to click ur shortcut program than ur pc will shut!

Maximizing ur PC Performance

When ur pc start up slow, but u have checked that there is no startup program ..means not too many but still slow, maybe it's time for u to do one of this tip

Open ur system prop, go to advance,user profiles and check ur settings and how many spaced used for ur profiles.if it's too big,
now u have to move som of ur files to other drive, cause it counts!
Especially inside MyDocument(not mine..k..)
After that, cheeck again , as for best space hmm..about 20-40MB only..

Right Click-Send To ease function

Did u notify that when u right click there were a 'send to' columm andit target only to fix places & of course your removable media? Did u? (ex; MyDocument,Desktop, Mail, etc..)

Sometimes it quite bugging me when u have to do the old time way if u wanna to copy a file for example,u have to right clik, then copy then search your destination then clik paste.huhh..to many steps..

but now, u can customize it.This steps will do those.

1. Assign any template/temporary folder or maybe your harddisk as your target.For ex;maybe u always use your D drive to put everything that u download or copy,etc.

2. Create a shortcut to the diretory.

3. Then cut the shortcut( hehe..not copy) then put it into this folder C:\DocumentnSetting\(YourUsername)\Send To

p/s: This Send To folder is hidden..

4. Ypu will see those stuff (MyDocument,Mail,Compressed etc;) there together with your shortcut.

5. Finish your work.

6. Now, u can try to click any files in your desktop/hard disk, right click,send to and u will see the shortcut name that u have just dun before. Put it there, and automatically that file will go directly to your target directory. Have fun.

p/s:i've try this on Xp machines only..but maybe also do the same on other win version.

End/Kill program through DOS mode

Note: This tip can be only used on XP machines..
1. Open ur taskmanager ( Win + R, then type taskmgr ) or Ctrl+Alt+Del
2. Go to view process list
3. Get the 'target' image name. p/s: if u want to kill the IE browser, the image name should be iexplore.exe
4. Then, open ur DOS session.
5. Used the command below (without quote)
c:> taskkill /IM iexplore.exe
6. See the result..u got it.

How to Simplify Program Execution

1. Track a path to any of your program (ex; your IE browser or any other else, Word.exe.etc)
2. Copy the file (.exe) and place it in your Windows folder..
3. Or u can create a shortcut, and rename it to a name that is easier for u..and put the link into
the Windows folder.
4. Then form now on, u just press Windows Key [On left side + R] for run key and enter the file name; ex wordy; enter!
5. There u go..your application will start faster then ever.
6. Have a try!

Generally, windows platform, created by the Microsoft .. evolved and started with Windows 1.01, 2.03, 3.00 (the file manager comes in ), then followed by Windows NT 3.0, and windows 95.

Next was a 'colourful' platform on Windows 98, Windows 2000 (don't forget the ME ), and then Windows XP...
ANd right now, there are 2 more called as Windows Longhorn and Windows Vista..( well, o course the servers are not included here..:)

By then, we can see the 'upgrading' platform was intended to give full 'personalised' feature on demand by users.
For example, the XP comes with 'colourful' pack that makes the ease of interfaces and operation.
